Yes. If you have an approved claim under WorkCover, the Transport Accident Commission (TAC), or the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), physiotherapy treatment may be covered. Physiotherapy plays an important role in helping people recover from injury, restore movement, and safely return to normal activities or work.
In most cases you will need a referral from your GP or treating doctor for physiotherapy under WorkCover or TAC. Your doctor will provide the necessary documentation outlining your injury and recommended treatment.
Please bring your claim number, employer details, referral from your doctor, and any relevant medical documents such as scans or reports. This helps your physiotherapist understand your injury and communicate effectively with your doctor, insurer or employer.
Approved physiotherapy treatment is covered by WorkCover, TAC or DVA. Coverage depends on your individual claim and approval status. Our team can assist with confirming your eligibility and managing the required paperwork. For WorkCover and TAC a gap fee may apply in addition to the rebate provided, which will be payable at the time of consultation. No Gap fee applies to DVA appointments.
The number of sessions depends on your injury and treatment needs. Your physiotherapist will develop a treatment plan and may submit progress reports to your doctor or insurer if additional sessions are required.
Yes. Physiotherapy focuses on restoring strength, movement, and confidence so you can safely return to work and daily activities. Rehabilitation programs may also include exercises designed to help meet the physical demands of your job.
Common injuries include back and neck pain, muscle strains, joint injuries, whiplash, and other musculoskeletal injuries resulting from workplace or transport accidents.
Early treatment can help reduce pain, restore movement, and improve recovery outcomes. Starting physiotherapy soon after injury often helps people return to normal activities more quickly.
